The two Bolts share a 2,149 mm wingspan and the same general bush-plane-inspired shape. Their main difference is inside the airframe. Choose between them by the construction work you want to do, not just the finished appearance.
What the names mean
| Model | Structure | Workshop preparation |
|---|---|---|
| Bolt PC | Printed parts + carbon tubes | Print ribs, formers and skins; prepare the specified carbon tubes and hardware. |
| Bolt PWC | Printed parts + wood + carbon tubes | Prepare plywood components as well as printed pieces, carbon tubes and hardware. |
Neither Bolt is an entirely printed airplane. Motors, radio equipment, servos, battery, fasteners and other specified hardware are separate purchases. Use the PC equipment list or PWC equipment list before ordering parts.
Inspect the mounts before gluing
The current Bolt packages use simplified mounts, reducing the assembly work of earlier versions. PWC R5.1 also raises the gear-block bearing surface by 1 mm to meet the deck, removing the need for the earlier separate bearing pads. Use the matching revision throughout an assembly; do not mix an old guide with a replacement mount.
The dedicated PC mount viewer and PWC mount viewer show the tubes, bolts and glue locations. Check the joint in an assembled view, then follow the steps to understand what must remain accessible.
Battery access is part of the build
Both current models include a magnetic battery canopy with locating tabs. Dry-fit the canopy and tabs before bonding magnets. Check magnet polarity as a mating pair and keep adhesive away from surfaces that must separate. Use the dimensions and hardware callouts in your package; a visual preview does not establish a magnet’s retention force.
Choose a practical first step
Download one current package, extract it, and read the print index and assembly guide. Print a representative mating joint before larger sections, using the intended material and orientation. Check tube fit and alignment on the bench, then continue in the guide’s order.
These revisions still need physical fit, structural and flight validation. The design work makes the assembly easier to understand; your measured print results remain essential. Compare the Bolt PC model and Bolt PWC model in 3D before you choose.
